Losing Your Mother traces a walk the filmmaker took through Mumbai, India in 2023—the same city in which her Nanabapa (grandfather) studied shortly before emigrating from India to the UK a decade after Indian partition in 1947. Gradually, the filmmaker’s images of the city become testament to the gulf between her Nanbapa’s life and her own, as her attempts to align his memories with the spaces she encounters are repeatedly frustrated. Blending narrative, archival footage and objects with home videos shot by the filmmaker’s mother, the film becomes an attempt to negotiate the gaps and fractures which emerge out of displacement, diaspora and generational trauma.

A young photographer moves back in with his mother and has to adjust to his old hometown. Things get more challenging when she appoints him as her dating coach in order to spend more time together.

His mother having died while giving birth to his younger brother, and his father mentally incapacitated due to a serious car accident, 13-year old Yeong-cheol must look after his yoyng siblings. His neighbors, however, feel that it would be a kindness to have the children sent to an orphanage.

There, she meets Dal-Jung and through his arrangement, she gets married into the rural rich Choi family as the wife of the youngest son. She lives as if she were housemaid looking after her mentally deficient husband Young-Ku, parents-in-law, and sister-in-law, and gives birth to a precious son. But she is driven out of the house because of mother-in-law and sister-in-law's evil plot. Going around from restaurants to restaurants, she becomes a owner of a restaurant and lives helping the poor children. Later, she comes to meet Young-Ku working as a shoe shining man in Busan. Mother-in-law and sister-in-law regret their faults in past and Bun-Yi regains their old house. Thus, all of them return to their hometown and live a happy life.

A father recounts to his children - through a series of flashbacks - the journey he and his four best friends took leading up to him meeting their mother.

Your Mother Wouldn't Like It was a children's sketch show broadcast on ITV between 1985 and 1988. A unique aspect of the show was that the performing cast were almost entirely children.The show was produced by Central Television at their Lenton Lane studios in Nottingham. The children used on the show were part of the Central Junior Television Workshop, an initiative founded by Central Television. The show won a BAFTA award but has never been issued on DVD or VHS tape release.
